As adults, we all know how troublesome tooth aches and gum problems can be. Babies do not suffer less and it can be quite worrisome for parents because babies can’t just tell you what they feel or need. Usually, they become cranky or just cry all of a sudden while the parents feel helpless.

Oral health for babies actually starts right after birth. Although babies naturally have pleasant breath, mothers of infants still has a part in ensuring that their babies have clean gums and tongue before bedtime.  Use damp cloth with clean water and gently clean your baby’s gum and tongue. Or you can use SansFluo Tooth and Gum Wipes with Xylitolwhich were specifically created in cleaning your baby’s mouth and gums. These are also very effective when your baby starts teething.

As soon as the baby teeth appears, the more we should become watchful of our children’s dental health. Baby teeth, although temporary, serve as guide for the growth of permanent teeth. Decay and early loss of baby teeth can cause improper spacing of permanent teeth, and thus the need for dental treatments which can be very costly these days.

Here are some steps which you can follow in ensuring that your little kids develop healthy gums and teeth:

1. Be a good example in tooth brushing. You can set your routine in brushing your teeth after meal times same time with your child so they can see you how you properly do the brushing and washing of your mouth.  Introduce the Sansfluo Training Toothbrush which has a pen grip type and long handle which allows little hands to securely hold them while brushing.

2. For children below 8, let them do the brushing at first, but make time to follow up on brushing their teeth for them. Most children cannot clean their teeth properly until about 8.

3. As much as possible, wean your children from bottle to cup as soon as they had their first birthday party. Prolonged bottle feeding may have impact on your child’s teeth when it comes to dental positioning and developing cavities.

4. Use a non-fluoride toothpaste for your children. As fluoride is already incorporated in our drinking water, infant formula, and baby juices, the risk of over consuming fluoride can be heightened as little children do not know how to rinse or spit out toothpaste when they brush.

SansFluo Natural Toothgel Cleanser is a specially formulated toothpaste for infants and children from 0 to 6 years old. It’s fluoride-free and is safe to swallow. It is non-foaming because it has no sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and contains no harmful ingredients. SansFluo Natural comes in Orange and Strawberry flavors so the kids will surely have a great time brushing.

Instead of fluoride, SansFluo uses Xylitol which has been proven to be an effective alternative to fluoride especially for young children.  Xylitol prevents bacteria from producing acids, and instead encourages the teeth to remineralize or heal itself with protective coating naturally.
